The Kidet Reunion was an overwhelming success! An evening filled with fun, laughs, old friends, new friends, great food and drink, but most importantly, a family, a drum corps family, re-uniting after way too long! Right from the beginning of the idea to the final event of a Kidet Reunion, the complications of the many details to make this event happen were difficult, to say the least! When the much awaited event day came, it went off so smoothly as if it was something so commonly done on a frequent basis. There were Kidets of all generations! Kidets that became Bridgemen, Kidets that never became Bridgemen, Bridgemen that were never Kidets! The night was filled with constant screams of joy as Kidets entered the room that haven’t seen each other in many a year! I myself, never being a Kidet, was a little apprehensive about being among so many people I didn’t know! There were a few familiar fellow Bridgemen faces upon my arrival to comfort my apprehension. But I never had a feeling of being an outsider! I immediately felt comfortable as I began to move about, taking photos of the members of the glorious Saint Andrews Drum Corps History! You can call it HYPE or you can just call it Drum Corps Family energy. Whatever it was, it was warm & comforting & I was glad to be there & be a part of it! I have to say that I feel so privileged to be a part of this Bridgemen Organization! If not for the re-birth of our Bridgemen Organization, I would not have had the opportunity to meet and make new friends from Bridgemen of all decades, and now, just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, I get to meet a whole other part of the family, The KIDETS! And if you have the tiniest of drum corps spark still left in you, come Join the HYPE, Feel the HYPE & Be the HYPE! The Fun, Family & Friends after all these years, is still there!
